Our dishwasher tablets come completely without plastic film or wrapping – that’s why we call them 'Naked Tabs.' Many conventional tabs are packaged in a water-soluble PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) film. Why do we deliberately avoid this? For three good reasons:
1. Environmental impact after use:
Although PVA films dissolve in water and are therefore not considered microplastics, they are often marketed as 'biodegradable' – which means they can break down under ideal conditions within 28 days. However, these conditions are rarely found in the environment. Therefore, biodegradable substances should only be used when truly necessary. Additionally, the enormous quantity is a problem: If just one PVA film ends up in wastewater in every German household every day, that amounts to around 12 million films – every day. This mass makes the breakdown process even more difficult.
2. Impact of production:
The production of PVA film is also energy- and resource-intensive. That’s why we consistently avoid anything unnecessary in our production process.
3. Raising awareness:
With our products, we want to show that many conventional household products contain unnecessary plastic. Our Naked Tabs prove that dishwasher tablets can clean reliably without film – and be more environmentally friendly at the same time.
